Compared with large-cap benchmarks like the S&P 500, Russell 2000 constituents rely more on the domestic US economy and financing conditions, making the index more rate-sensitive and cyclical, usually with higher volatility. Its futures trade electronically on CME Globex (E-mini Russell, ticker RTY): opening Sunday 17:00 and closing Friday 16:00 Central Time, with a daily 16:00–17:00 CT maintenance break; closed on weekends.
