DE40 tracks Germany's DAX 40 — Europe's most influential blue-chip index, made up of the 40 largest companies on the Frankfurt exchange (Siemens, SAP, Volkswagen, Allianz, Bayer and more) and a barometer of German/Eurozone industry, tech and finance. The DAX is a total-return index (dividends reinvested), highly sensitive to Eurozone manufacturing PMIs, German industrial data, ECB decisions and global trade tensions; it correlates with US equities but swings harder. Futures trade on Eurex (Deutsche Börse Group): Monday–Friday 01:10–22:00 Central European Time, same-day sessions; closed on weekends.
