UKOIL is Brent crude oil (light sweet crude from the North Sea) quoted in US dollars, listed on ICE Futures Europe in London (futures code BRN), priced in USD per barrel. Its trading hours are based on London time: the week opens Sunday 23:00 London, then each trading day runs 01:00–23:00 London with maintenance breaks 23:00–01:00 between days; the market closes for the weekend after Friday 23:00. In US Eastern Time the week opens Sunday 6:00 PM (constant across DST). Brent and WTI crude (NYMEX, New York) are the two global crude oil pricing benchmarks, significantly influenced by OPEC+ meetings, EIA inventory data, geopolitics and the US dollar index.
