HK50 tracks Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index — one of the world's most actively traded China-linked equity indices, led by Tencent, HSBC, Alibaba, AIA and Meituan; its unique position where Chinese listings meet international capital makes it a function of both mainland policy and dollar liquidity (under the currency peg), plus southbound flows. Futures trade in three sessions (Hong Kong time): 09:15–12:00, 13:00–16:30 (lunch break 12:00–13:00) and the T+1 after-hours session 17:15–03:00 the following morning; closed on weekends and HK public holidays, with the night session absorbing overnight moves in US and offshore-China assets.
