Fibonacci Calculator
Enter the swing high and low — every retracement and extension level, computed at once.
What it is
Fibonacci retracement is one of the most widely used support/resistance tools in trading: after a completed swing, price often finds support or resistance near the 38.2%, 50% and 61.8% marks of the swing. The ratios come from relationships within the Fibonacci sequence, and their sheer popularity makes them a self-fulfilling reference. This calculator computes every retracement and extension level of the swing at once — faster and more precise than drawing on a chart, ideal for quickly answering "where might the pullback find support" and "where does the trend extend to".

Where does the pullback find support — and the trend extend?
Enter the swing high and low — every Fibonacci level at once, computed in your browser.
Enter the swing high and low to see all Fibonacci levels.
How to use it
- Pick the swing direction: upswing (low to high — retracements inside the swing, extensions above the high) or downswing (the reverse);
- Enter the swing high and low: the clear swing high and low of this move;
- Read the retracement levels: 23.6% / 38.2% / 50% / 61.8% / 78.6% — where a pullback may find support or resistance;
- Read the extension levels: 127.2% / 161.8% / 200% — where the trend may extend to.
The formula
Retracements are fractional positions inside the swing; extensions project beyond it.
Of the extension ratios 127.2% / 161.8% / 200%, only the part beyond 100% is the "extension distance" — a 127.2% extension is 0.272 × the range.
Worked example
An upswing from 2600 to 2700 (100-point range):
- 38.2% retracement = 2700 − 100 × 0.382 = 2661.8; 61.8% = 2700 − 100 × 0.618 = 2638.2;
- 50% retracement = 2700 − 50 = 2650 (the swing midpoint);
- 127.2% extension = 2700 + 100 × 0.272 = 2727.2; 161.8% extension = 2761.8.
Watch 2661.8 on the first pullback, then 2650/2638.2; after the high breaks, first target 2727.2, second 2761.8.
FAQ
Q Which ratios are commonly used?
Retracements: 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 78.6% (38.2% and 61.8% draw the most attention); extensions: 127.2%, 161.8%, 200%. The 61.8% "golden ratio" is the heart of the set.
Q Why is 50% common when it is not a Fibonacci ratio?
50% is the Dow-theory midpoint of a swing. It does not come from the Fibonacci sequence, but it is universally drawn alongside 38.2%/61.8% and acts as a major reference — so this calculator includes it.
Q How do I pick the swing high and low?
Use the clear swing points of the move in question: an upswing runs from the launch low to the current high, on a timeframe matching your trading (daily traders use daily swings). Different points give different levels — that flexibility is also subjectivity, so keep your own selection rules consistent.
Q How does this relate to the MT5 Fibonacci retracement tool?
The numbers are identical (same ratio system). The drawing tool fits chart work; the calculator gets exact prices into your trading plan quickly — they complement each other.
