Install Guide
This guide applies to every zip source archive in the Camovia library (EAs, indicators, and scripts). Everything runs offline — no third-party installers involved.
Step 1 · Download & unpack
- Click the download button on a tool page to get the zip archive.
- Right-click → "Extract All": you get .mq4/.mq5 sources (plus compiled .ex4/.ex5 when included), a LICENSE file, and a README.
- Optionally verify integrity first: certutil -hashfile filename SHA256 and compare with the SHA-256 shown on the page.
Step 2 · Copy into the MetaTrader data folder
- In MT4/MT5, open File → Open Data Folder.
- EAs → MQL4\Experts (or MQL5\Experts); indicators → MQL4\Indicators (or MQL5\Indicators); scripts → MQL4\Scripts (or MQL5\Scripts).
- If the archive includes .mqh headers, put them under MQL4\Include / MQL5\Include, preserving relative paths.
Step 3 · Compile & enable
- Open MetaEditor (press F4 in MT4/MT5), locate the copied source file in the Navigator, and click Compile.
- Back in the platform, right-click the Navigator → Refresh (or restart the platform).
- Drag the EA/script onto a chart: for EAs, tick "Allow automated trading" in the dialog and make sure the AutoTrading toolbar button is green.
EA vs indicator vs script
- EA (automated trading): keeps running on the chart and opens/closes trades by its strategy; removing it from the chart unloads it.
- Indicator: overlays computed output on the chart (lines, histograms, panels) and never places orders.
- Script: a one-shot program you run by double-clicking (batch close, quick drawing) that exits when done.
Troubleshooting
▸Nothing happens when I drag it onto a chart?
Check that compilation succeeded (MetaEditor Toolbox should show 0 errors); make sure the global AutoTrading switch and the per-EA permission are both on; and only attach builds for the matching platform (MT4 files on MT4).
▸Compile errors or outdated syntax?
Compile your own .ex files from the included sources. Some older projects rely on syntax from older builds — update your platform first, then check the upstream repository README for compatibility notes.
▸A DLL permission prompt appears?
None of the green-tier sources in this library require external DLLs. If you see a DLL prompt, verify the code at the upstream repository before allowing it.
